Velodyne MiniVee X

MiniVee X: compact 8-inch active subwoofer with app

A compact sealed active subwoofer: an 8" long-throw driver works with a passive radiator of the same diameter, an arrangement that reduces cabinet movement. The MDF cabinet has internal bracing against resonances.

App, automatic correction and connections

Using the Auto EQ app by Velodyne Acoustics (iOS and Android) and the microphone supplied, calibration to the room is automatic; every parameter can then be adjusted from the app. The amplifier is class D. RCA and XLR inputs and outputs, stereo and LFE, for daisy-chaining several subwoofers; trigger input and output; a 5 V USB socket to power the Wi-Connect System II transmitter. Low-pass from 30 to 200 Hz, phase from 0 to 180°.

Connecting it to the system

It connects to the subwoofer (LFE) output of a home cinema receiver or, in a stereo system, to the line outputs of the preamplifier or to the speaker terminals through the high-level input.
